Biography

I was born and raised in an impossibly quaint little town - Zionsville, Indiana. I grew up the youngest in a large boisterous Catholic family, which goes a long way toward explaining my life strategy: "stay very quiet and observant, take excellent notes, and be ready to run for cover at any instant."

To my surprise, at the age of four I was crowned Little Miss Colonial, a moment which most likely represents the absolute apex of my cuteness. From there it was one awkward stage after another, some involving extracranial orthodontics, some involving bad perms, some involving both. This led me to seek comfort in books, science, computers, comedy and other nerdy enthusiasms which I enjoy to this day.

I have a bachelor of arts in History with an English minor from Marian College, a Catholic liberal arts school in Indianapolis.  During college I started a business that steadily grew and was a full-time proposition by the time I graduated. 

Eventually I tired of the overwhelming fame and fortune associated with small-town entrepreneurialism and packed up a U-Haul, bound for Chicago, where today I toil busily at the word factory, moonlighting at the giggle factory.
